I try to establish some relatability with the audience and my coworkers when ad-libbing.  Here is a good example when discussing weather conditions near the end of a show.

I took questions from audience members and people on social media for a town hall aired by WJAC.  In the wake of tragedy at one local school district, discussion on bullying and the effects it has on local students was fostered.
